Ogbakor Ikwerre Commends Gov. Amaechi

The Ogbakor Ikwerre, a socio-cultural organisation of Ikwerre people in Rivers State has commended the laudable achievements of Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi in improving the state.
This was made known when the group visited Amaechi last Monday at Governement House, Port Harcourt.

Speaking on behalf of the group, the President General, Prof. Augustine Onyeozu said the group came to felicitate with the governor for his landmark achievements since his inception as the governor of Rivers State.
He pointed out that his achievements has surpassed every other achievement recorded by any sitting governor of Rivers State, adding that as a son of Ikwerre extraction, Amaechi has brought honour to the people of Ikwerre and the entire Rivers people. Click on read more below to continue reading...

The group also thanked the entire people of Rivers State for their unmitigated support and loyalty to Gov. Amaechi and for creating an enabling environment for his performances.
"The people of Ikwerre ethnic nationality with every sense of responsibility appreciate all the ethnic groups in Rivers State for the support and loyalty they have given to his Excellency's administration. It is our fervent prayer that in sue season, we shall reciprocate this love the Rivers people have shown to you," Onyeozu said.

The group however called on Gov. Amaechi to remain focused on his developmental strides and not to allow himself to be distracted by any less serious minded persons who never see anything good in his administration.

Continuing, Prof. Onyeozu the Ogbakor Ikwerre pledges their inmitigated support and loyalty to Gov. Amaechi, promising that the group will continue to give their support in ensuring that he delivers on his mandate as Executive governor of Rivers State. 'Delivering on your mandate is non-negotiable' the group emphasised.

Responding, Gov. Amaechi welcomed the group, thanking them for motivating him with their visit. He said that as a son of Ikwerre, he felt honoured and elevated by their visit. He noted that his administration has ensured that government projects spread across the 23 local government ares in the state.

Gov. Amaechi appealed to Rivers poeple to forge a formidable front that would attract development to the state. He called on the Ikwerre people to take advantage of their majority by participating positively in government policies and programmes, while advising that they should not use their majority to intimidate.
He commended their support while calling on them to seriously work towards the progress of the state.
